National Health Mission (NHM), Jharkhand has released two Recruitment 2026 notifications for a total of 306 Specialist Medical Officer vacancies. The recruitment includes 106 Specialist Medical Officer positions under the Jharkhand Rural Health Mission Society and 200 Non-Teaching Specialist Medical Officer positions under the Department of Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand.

NHM Jharkhand Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection of Specialist Medical Officers will be conducted through a facility-wise financial bidding process, subject to the prescribed eligibility requirements.
- Applications will be shortlisted based on the prescribed eligibility criteria.
- Candidates may select a maximum of three facilities in one application.
- For each facility, the eligible candidate quoting the lowest acceptable monthly remuneration will be considered the L-1 bidder.
- If two or more candidates quote the same amount, preference will be determined according to the prescribed tie-breaking criteria, including postgraduate qualification, relevant experience, and date of birth.
- Preference and negotiation provisions for applicable reserved categories and Persons with Disabilities will be considered according to the recruitment rules.
- If the selected L-1 bidder does not join, the department may consider the next eligible bidder according to the prescribed procedure.
- The department reserves the right to reject bids that are considered unacceptable.
The final selection and facility allocation will be subject to the terms and conditions of the respective advertisement.
Nature and Tenure of Engagement
The recruitment is for contractual engagement of Specialist Medical Officers.
- The engagement is contractual and does not constitute regular government employment.
- The agreement may initially be executed for three years, subject to the conditions stated in the notification.
- Continuation and renewal will be governed by the prescribed terms, including provisions relating to regular specialist postings.
- Selected candidates will not acquire a claim to regular appointment, absorption, seniority, or regular government service benefits.
- The allotted facility will be non-transferable.
