MH SET is an eligibility test, not a recruitment for a specific post. The process has two stages:
- Written examination (Paper I and Paper II)
- Declaration of result and eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor
The official website states that, as per UGC guidelines, a candidate who qualifies SET is eligible to apply for Assistant Professor posts only in universities and colleges of the same state whose SET they have cleared. Qualifying SET also does not make a candidate eligible for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and other academic qualifications prescribed by the UGC still apply.
