Age Limit
The maximum age is 35 years, counted on the closing date of applications, 13 November 2026.
Essential Qualification
The notice prints the essential qualification as follows:
- Candidates with or without a valid GATE/NET who have at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA in both UG and PG (GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL). For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the minimum is 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA in both UG and PG.
- OR candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with a CGPA of at least 7.5/10 or 70% marks (GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL). For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the minimum is a CGPA of 7.0/10 or 65%.
- B.Tech/B.E or equivalent degree in ECE and M.Tech/M.E in ECE or equivalent, OR B.Tech/B.E or equivalent degree in ECE.
Desirable Experience
This is preferred, not mandatory: a solid understanding of digital communication, probability theory, optimization and wireless communications, plus experience with programming languages such as MATLAB or Python.
Relaxation
SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD/EWS candidates get relaxation in qualification and age as per Government of India rules.

Selection Process
- Applications are screened, and the Institute may limit the number of candidates shortlisted for interview.
- Shortlisted candidates are interviewed. The date, the mode (online or offline) and other details will be sent by email.
- If no suitable candidate is found, nobody may be recruited.
Service Conditions
- The post is temporary and funded by the TARANG project.
- Duration: 03 years or until the project is completed, whichever is earlier.
- Performance is reviewed every 12 months, and any extension depends on that review.
- Selected candidates must sign an agreement when they join.
- Candidates who are already employed must submit a no-objection certificate from their employer at the interview.
