The appointment is for five years or until superannuation, whichever is earlier. Applicants need a Master's Degree with at least 55% marks (or grade 'B' on the UGC 7-point scale) and 15 years of experience as set out below. About LITU
Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University, Nagpur was established by the Government of Maharashtra Act XLI, 2023 and was formerly known as Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, Nagpur. The University is located at Bharat Nagar, Amravati Road, Nagpur-440033.
Who Can Apply
Essential qualification and experience, all three parts to be met:
- A Master's Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale. The notice treats grade 'B' as equivalent to 55%; on the UGC scale it covers 55 – 64 percent.
- 5% relaxation in the Master's Degree for SC/ST and Departmental candidates.
- A 5% relaxation, from 55% to 50% of the marks, for Ph.D. Degree holders who passed their Master's Degree before 19th September, 1991.
AND any one of the following experience options:
- At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 7000/- and above, or with 8 years of service in the AGP of Rs. 8000/- and above, including as Associate Professor, along with experience in educational administration; OR
- Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other Institutions of Higher Education; OR
- 15 years of Administrative Experience, of which at least 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.
AND a computer certificate: a Certificate of D.O.E.A.C. Societies 'C.C.C.' or 'O' level or 'A' level or 'B' level or 'C' level or MSCIT or GECT Certificate of Maharashtra State Higher & Technical Education Board, OR a Certificate in Computer Operation prescribed by the Govt. of Maharashtra from time to time. Those who do not hold the certificate must produce it within two years from the date of their appointment.
Qualifications, experience and all other eligibility conditions must be fulfilled as on the last date for making the application. The time taken to acquire an M.Phil. and/or Ph.D. degree is not counted as teaching/research experience. Proficiency in the Marathi language is essential.
Desirable
- Preference will be given to candidates from the University system who are working as Deputy Registrar or on an equivalent post, as per the Maharashtra Higher & Technical Education Department Resolution No. Sankirna 2012/(9/12) Vishi-1 dated 16th March 2013.
Candidates should verify that they hold the prescribed qualifications before applying. The notice states that no inquiry seeking advice on eligibility will be entertained.
Pay and Terms
The post carries Level S–29 in the pay matrix, Rs. 1,31,100 – 2,16,600/-. The post-holder is also entitled to other usual allowances and benefits as admissible under state government rules in force from time to time. The notice does not give the in-hand amount.
- The Registrar is appointed for a term of five years OR till he/she attains the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier, and is not eligible for re-appointment.
- The appointment is based on the recommendation of a selection committee constituted as per the Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University Act 2023.
- The eligibility criteria and pay scale are as prescribed in the Maharashtra Higher & Technical Education Department Resolution No. Sankirn – 2012/(9/12)Vishi-1 dated 16th March 2013, Notification dated 8th December, 2020, read with Resolution No. Sankirn – 1123/Pr. Kr. 150/Vishi-1, dated 10th July, 2025.
- A new "Defined contribution pension scheme" applies to Govt. servants recruited on or after 1st November, 2005 (Govt. Resolution No. Aniyo-1005/126/Seva-4 dated 31st October, 2005). The notice says the same will apply to employees of this University.
- Applicants are not entitled to any TA/DA for attending the interview.
How to Apply for LITU REGISTRAR
The notice asks for a paper application. Applications received by email, fax or any other digital mode will not be entertained.
- Take the prescribed application form, which the notice says is attached to the University website, and read all instructions before filling it. Applications that are incorrectly filled or incomplete are liable to be rejected.
- Fill the form on A-4 paper, complete in all respects. Paste (do not staple or pin) a passport-size colour photograph at the top right of the form, attested by the applicant, in at least two sets of the application forms.
- Pay the registration fee and attach the payment receipt to the form. The form has a fee section for Transaction ID, date and amount. The bank details printed are Indian Overseas Bank, Pande Layout, Nagpur, Account No. 242101029082023, IFSC Code IOBA0002421.
- Attach self-attested copies of certificates/testimonials in TEN SETS. Write the serial number of each enclosure in the matching column of the form. Information in a certificate is not considered unless it is claimed in the form.
- Enclose the duly filled "Proforma-A", Declaration-II and your bio-data.
- Place everything in a cloth-lined envelope showing the Advertisement No., Name of the Post and Category of the candidate, addressed to "The Registrar, Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University, Bharat Nagar, Amravati Road, Nagpur-440033".
- Make sure the application reaches by 1 December 2026, up to 5:00 p.m. Late applications are rejected without any communication, and the University is not responsible for postal delay or for applications lost or misplaced by the postal department.

Documents Named in the Notice
- Duly completed application form and the payment receipt for the registration fee.
- Self-attested copies of certificates/testimonials in TEN SETS.
- "Proforma-A". Failure to submit it makes the application liable for rejection.
- Declaration-II, on the small family rule under Notification No. SRV.2000/CR/(17/2000) XII, dated 28th March, 2005. In the form, the applicant declares being liable to disqualification for the same post if the total number of living children is more than two due to children born after 28th March, 2005.
- Bio-data.
- Self-attested copies of Caste certificate, Caste Validity certificate and Non-creamy layer certificate, wherever applicable.
- In-service candidates: the form must be signed and forwarded by the present employer. If delay is anticipated, an advance copy with the fee receipt may be submitted. If the forwarded application does not reach the Registrar in time, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer must be produced at the interview, and without it the candidate will not be permitted to appear.
- All original documents are to be produced for verification at the time of the interview.
The application form also asks for details of two referees, Declaration-I, and sections for qualifications, present position, teaching, research and administrative experience, publications and academic distinctions. It asks for age in years as on 30th November, 2026.
Selection Process
The notice states that appointment is made on the recommendation of a selection committee constituted under the Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University Act 2023. The information in the application form is used to decide eligibility and suitability for being called for the interview. Candidates who are not short-listed or not called for an interview receive no correspondence. Original documents are verified at the interview. Canvassing in any form during the selection process is a disqualification. The University is not responsible for postponement or cancellation of a scheduled interview for unforeseen or unavoidable reasons. The notice gives no interview date.
Important Instructions
- Reserved category candidates domiciled outside the State of Maharashtra are treated as OPEN category candidates, as per Maharashtra Govt. Circular No.CBS-1290/23116/Pra.Kra.378/ Mapak.5, dated 24th August, 1995.
- If the documents show that the information is false or based on false certificates, the applicant is liable to legal action and the interview/selection is immediately cancelled.
- Applicants are advised to apply well in advance to avoid postal delay.
- All disputes arising out of this advertisement are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent court in Nagpur.
